Another sunday, another photo shoot , another brazilian . This shoot almost didn't happen because of
" Juan ". Thankfully, the typhoon spared Manila ( although it still affected a lot of people in the northern areas). Our model is a brazilian who just flew in last saturday .
This was the first time I used a ring-shaped light as a main source of light .
This is basically a 65 watts CFL attached to a mount designed for photography. The light from the tube is much more like daylight , so it was easily combined with the ambient light coming from the window of the room we were using. I think this can also be used with other light sources ( strobes, flash heads) . I was really impressed with the effect as it produced a very soft light on the model plus it created a beautiful catch light on her eyes as well . This will be a very good complement to my DIY fluorescent lights. Another item added to my wish list this coming Christmas : ) Thanks again to Jerico, Rhina, Reeza, and Paolo for organizing this shoot.

I'm an ophthalmologist by profession but with a passion for photography. Learned from the best photographers in the Philippines - Jun Miranda, Ibarra Deri, Tilak Hettige, Xander Angeles to name a few . What you can see here are some of my recent works as well as my photos for the last couple of years. Feel free to comment and leave a message.
