I'm not really a landscape person . I shoot  portraits and macro more . When I started photography, I thought landscape was the easiest to do among the other fields but I was wrong ! You have to be patient and wait for that perfect light. It really helps to have a very stable and reliable tripod. 

In our recent family summer outing, I tried my hand on near infrared photography. A good thing about IR is that you don't have to wake up early   or wait for a golden sunset to shoot. Best time  is when the sun is high up ( 10 am - 2 pm ). 

Borrowed an IR720 filter from a friend and I attached it to a sigma 10-20 mm lens. One problem I encountered is that this lens causes a hot spot in the middle. Some lens coatings are not designed for infrared light, this one included. I had  better results with my 24 - 105 mm.   Another tip , don't forget to wear a hat or cap and don't forget the sunblock : )

It's been a while since my last post on my website. A little bit busy these past few months. Sharing some pictures from our trip in Baguio last April. Instead of shooting famous landmarks of the city and landscapes, I decided to shoot colors and some of the mundane things like some molds found in roots of pine trees and  which are ubiquitous in Baguio.
